Travel Fees

As a mobile occupational therapy service, travel fees are charged in addition to appointment fees (excluding Telehealth appointments), unless waived or reduced.

Provider travel labour costs (pro rata per hour): $193.99 (full rate) / $96.99 (discount rate)

Where possible, the discount rate will be charged for provider travel labour costs. Please see below, for further information on the discount, reduction or waiving of travel costs.

As per the NDIS Guidelines, the 2019 Modified Monash Model (MMM) is used to determine the maximum travel time that can be billed each way, which consists of 30 minutes for services provided in MMM1-3 areas and 60 minutes for services provided in MMM4-5 areas.

Provider travel non-labour costs: While many providers also charge non-labour travel fees (for each km travelled to and from an appointment (e.g. $1 per km travelled)) in addition to provider travel labour costs, which is permitted by the NDIS, Pottsville Occupational Therapy is currently trialling waiving these fees, in an effort to reduce the burden of therapy costs on clients and their families, as well as do our part to reduce the burden on the NDIS.

Discount, reduction or waiver of travel costs: Pottsville Occupational Therapy is dedicated to being a socially responsible business. Where possible, we do our best to reduce travel costs by providing our mobile therapy services to more than one client in a region to reduce the overall travel expenses for clients and their families, as travel expenses are shared between all clients in that region on the day of the appointment. The discount, waiving or reduction of travel fees is at our complete discretion, but we will do our best to reduce the financial burden of our services, where this is possible. This also allows us to place less financial burden on our clients and on various funding arrangements, including the NDIS.
